Welcome to WebTedNews

There is truly an historic decision to be faced in this election cycle as there is a clear difference in ideology between the major parties and we must choose the type of government we as a nation want to have.

On the left you have believers in a system where the government takes an active (intrusive from my point of view) role in shaping the markets, the education system and providing assistance to large segments of the population. On the right are those who believe that government is too intrusive, too big and too expensive. Those on the right are concerned with freedoms, government spending and our unsustainable national debt.

On the left, government is seen as the solution to all problems within the society. On the right, you have those who feel that government is the problem and that individual rights and responsibilities with a entrepreneurial and capitalistic free market system will provide the broad based opportunities and the strong economic machine that made the American experience great until the last decade or so.

Our recent experience suggests that these philosophies may not be compatible and WE THE PEOPLE must make a choice in 2012. The mainstream media had been less than vigilant or unbiased of late so it is my hope that all voters will take the time to look for information from a variety of sources to back up their choice.

Choose wisely.

Politics is the Intersection of Current Events and History

This site will provide you with news you can use in a variety of ways. First there will be a political section that will provide commentary on the 2012 election cycle. My comments will tend toward the conservative side of the spectrum, but I may be able to provide guest posts from authors who offer alternative views in a reasoned, rational way. In addition to the election information I will touch on the political process and government action (or inaction) as events demand.

Items of Interest

Second, this site will provide product information from many sources which I believe you may find interesting. Some articles will be product reviews, some may provide links to commercial sites where products may be purchased. In some cases I will have an affiliate interest in some of the products or services. Take action on products that may be of interest to you or not – as you wish. The core content of this site will remain available to you without cost in either case.

Membership topics

Third, I will shortly provide a download area where ebooks or reports that I find interesting will be available. Some of these documents will be provided without cost for download – some may reflect a reasonable (hopefully) cost for purchase of the ebook or report. Again, take advantage of these offerings or not at your discretion. I believe that the offerings will offer value and will provide useful information particularly for those who wish to gain knowledge in the area of internet marketing and social media. There will be opportunities for you to subscribe to topics to receive additional content or to be able to comment on blog posts.

Author and Site Info

Welcome to WebTedNews.

My name is Ted Baker. I have a law degree and have practiced law in a previous life. I have also been a teacher (college level law and current events topics), a CFO for a small specialized construction contractor, a regional technical manager for a voice mail provider, a financial services consultant and a Florida licensed real estate broker. I am currently a court mediator - certified by the Florida Supreme Court for Circuit Civil and County Court matters.

The title of my blog is Sound and Fury. The reference is to Shakespeare's Macbeth. The complete quote is, "It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." I find as an author of a political blog that it pays not to take myself too seriously.
